Arcangelo Corelli was an Italian composer and violinist. His pieces had wide influence to the development of chamber music. In 1677, he was 24 years old he started to write his own compositions. The famous Sonata «La Follia» (Violin and Bc), a sarabande-like theme with 21 variations, has an interesting, partially figurative bass line; the scoring for a duo (Violin and Viola) is very apt.
